Translation Dashboard manages post and pages translations. You can translate manually or automatically by Google Translator. Manage your translations and translate.

Translation Dashboard  manages translations for posts, pages, local links and local images attributes. Manually translates tags, categories and menus.

You can use Google Translate API v2 to automatically translate posts and pages. (Automatic Translation requires a Google Translate API v2 key with an user account).

Translations are created in admin side before can be used in frontend. You may review a translation manually before publishing.

Major features include:

Administration side

  • Manage post and page translation (manual/auto.).
  • Manage tags translations (manual).
  • Manage categories translations (manual).
  • Manage menus translations (manual).
  • Manage image attributes translations (manual/auto.)
  • Edit post/page manual/automatic (with Google translator) mode for translation and source language
  • Block posts/page translations to avoid overwritting them.

Translation dashboard page

  • The Translation Dashboard displays a list of untranslated, translated, draft and publish status posts or pages.
  • Translation dashboard orders alphabetically, by translation mode, by size or date.
  • Create automatic translations from Translation Dashboard for pending untranslated posts/pages
  • Create drafts from translated posts from Translation Dashboard. Post/pages are created first as a draft and then can be edited and published.

Sentence editor page

  • Sentences ara usually translated automatically, but later you can edit them in the Sentence Editor.
  • Automatic translations reuse stored sentences without sending again to Google Translator. An update of a post or page recovers the previously stored sentences.
  • Edited sentences will be used only in updated or new translations.
  • You will see a pair of source language and target language for each source/target languages that you have used.
  • You can delete unused sentence translations.  If you want that a sentence translation is translated again, first delete it in the sentence editor and later update post/page again.

Settings

  • Set a source language and a target language for translations.
  • You may change target language at any time to translate to different languages.
  • It is not recommended to change source language. If you need to change it you may get unexpected results for some posts/pages.

Tag, categories and menus pages

  • Manage tags translation (manual) in the Tag page.  Only assigned tags may be translated.
  • Manage categories translations (manual) in the Category page. Only assigned categories may be translated.
  • Manage Menu translations (manual/auto) in the Menu page. Translation Dashboard assumes the assigned menus are in source language and creates a menu for each target language.

Frontend side

  • Post/pages original and translation are linked by a link in the post or page title.
  • Logged users see website with the selected language in their profile.
  • Not-logged-users can use a pop-up selector to choose between languages. (Uses a session cookie).
