The Translation Dashboard has several pages. One of the most interesting for translators is the ‘Sentences’ page.

In the Sentences page you can edit any translated sentence.

Hint

You can order sentences alphabetically by source or target language. You can order by date or length.

There is a search field in the top left corner of the Sentences page.

You can edit the translated part of the sentence. You can not edit the original sentence.

Click the plus button to update or save the translated part of this sentence. Click the cross button to delete this sentence translation.

The updated sentences will be used when a new translation draft is created or updated.

The sentence database

The translation process is from source to target. The original post is parsed and sentences are extracted. Any old sentence found in the sentence database is reused ( it is not re-translated). Translation Dashboard only needs to translate new sentences.

So a new sentence is used only in the process to create a new draft.

As a new draft replaces the previous one with new or edited sentences all the translated content is replaced!

Notice

If you want that a sentence is automatically translated again first you have to delete it from the database. In this way, it can not be reused and a new translation is fetched from Google Translate.

It’s not possible to use existing sentence translations as a reversed translation: If you may swap the source language for one of the already translated ones in settings. And swap also the target language for the previous source language, the Translation Dashboard plugin will not reuse any existing sentences!
